Hi Liftarn, from what I understand the long term objective is to make the site completely child friendly
OK, that would mean that a lot of art, anatomical illustrations et.c. may be deleted.
Some images may be NSFW so it may be nice to have a way to flag them and then perhaps require a click to show the preview or a user setting.
If you have examples of sites where these tools are fully integrated / embedded in the site to offer enhanced capabilities then I am sure the developers would be eager to take a look if you can provide them with links
clker.com has it integrated. There is an edit button under the image so you can open it in the online editor. You can then save it to the site directly

Good find and future feature suggestion.
I don't know how useful it may be, but other sides offers online editing. Perhaps use https://github.com/SVG-Edit/svgedit
Another biology question. Is https://freesvg.org/cartoon-lemming-vector-illustration really a lemming?
https://freesvg.org/hedgehog-clip-art says it's a hedgehog ( spiny mammals of the subfamily Erinaceinae), but the description says it's a porcupine (Old World porcupines of family Hystricidae or the New World porcupines of family Erethizontidae).
What is it?
If I go into the tagging section and update an image I get bumped back to SVG management. It would be nice you you would return to the tagging section. Preferably the page you was on.
This would make the editing much faster.
For instance on https://freesvg.org/text-block-icon the preview is very blurred. Are they perhaps rendered at a very small size and scaled up?
OK, the source of the image is not that relevant. I also got a
Error 502 Ray ID: 52cd22acaa8fe688 • 2019-10-28 13:08:28 UTC
Bad gateway
when trying to upload https://inkscape.org/~desmafagafado/%E2 … tattoo-art
Found https://inkscape.org/gallery/?page=1&license=PD that may be of interest.
On some images I get 500 server error so I can't upload them.
For instance the image at https://web.archive.org/web/20190301004 … in-the-sky
When you look at an image like https://freesvg.org/moon-and-branches you have a field to the right with "More from liftarn". Shouldn't that show either the newest or most popular instead of the oldest?
Also if you go the the user view at https://freesvg.org/user/65 the images are listed from oldest to newest. Again, shouldn't the newest or most popular be listed first?
Even with "Remember Me" ticked I have to log in each time i visit the main site (the forum seems to work better). This wouldn't be a major issue, but it also seem to forget my password. I always get "These credentials do not match our records."
If I use "Forgot Your Password?" to request a new password I can log in again. I change the password, but next time I visit the site it has forgotten what I changed it to.
Google Drive gives 15 GB.
Internet Archive?
Or offer it for download and count on users acting as distributed back-up.
Looks like a new opensource site is in the works by coderspress, link to the github archive is here, you might want to consider checking the contents of their archive to see if there are any images that can be added to your collection:
Looks like it's a backup of OCAL.
Much better now. Thanks!
Wondering if there would need to be tiered user roles to prevent misuse from random people? (ie: not every user can tag, guidelines around tagging)
Yes, something like the librarians on old OCAL.
Which resolution, and which browser?
Firefox 69.0.2 (64 bit) under Windows 10. 1920x1080 screen resolution (browser window is smaller).
Looking at related image (great function btw) at for instance https://freesvg.org/homeless-man-and-a-dragon you see that they overlap each other. They either need to have smaller thumbnails or more space.
There are many duplicated images on the site, but it appears not all are actual duplivates, but that the related images shown includes the current image.
For instance https://freesvg.org/skeleton-playing-at-a-monster-ball shows itself as the first related image and a dupe as second ( https://freesvg.org/monster-ball ).
Ah, got it. It's under a submenu under dashboard. It could be easier to find.
I might be missing something, but shouldn't it be some way to upload images?
If there is somewhere backup of Ocal collections we can restore it and implement it on site.
Some are available via the Wayback Machine. The latest before it went into maintenance mode is https://web.archive.org/web/20190417091 … ipart.org/
Some of my seems to be available at https://web.archive.org/web/20190308010 … il/liftarn
The 2.0 package (from 2010) can be downloaded from https://web.archive.org/web/20140502215 … ollections
