Please check now
All registered users can now claim their authorship of SVG images for all vectors whereOpenClipart is named as author. When logged in you can see Claim SVG button beside Report Issues button.
Hi Liftarn
can you please send me some files to test them
Will add
EDIT:
Added feature
We have noticed abuse of this report button, so in the future only registered users will be able to report image (there is also bug when reporting image but not logged in).
Since there is already automatically developed algorithms (Google Vision) this will be used as help in determining if image is explicit.
Only images recognised as explicit by AI and user will be automatically marked and require login for access.
For now we suggest only pornography, nudity and racism as explicit.
This is our idea. Please suggest if you have something better.
Update:
All registered users can now help with image tagging
Yes
I'm looking in best practice solutions. This is just quick fix since we noticed lots of visits from schools.
OK,for now all images reported as explicit content are accessible only if registered.
Also blur with watermark will be added to preview images.
Hi
done some tweaking on related images and search results.
Based on some testing it looks much better
Issue with deleted svg and indexing of full text search. Fixing it.
You are correct. Now only title is used for matching. Adding tags tomorrow. Thanks for suggestion.
we will look into this
We need to thing about possible solutions. It would be a shame to omit some SVGs if there is possibility to keep them.
For now please just report them with report button
rob_s wrote:Liking the Polls, but you forgot one, a twitter page. I keep thinking eventually OCAL twitter page will go down and there will be no where else to turn to for updates for the community, purhaps you could create a page where users like me can follow in the event ocal goes down, so we can be kept informed of polls like this and engaged, and hopefully somewhere you can feature image of the month based on likes.
Though you may, for now, get fewer connections, I'd also recommend setting up an account in the federated network embodied by Mastodon. The federation is currently much smaller than the Twitter silo, but it is built on Free Software principles, very much in keeping with the spirit-of-sharing intent of the FreeSVG site.
I would recommend you consider setting up your account on the mastodon.art instance https://mastodon.art/about. In the event you find enrollment is currently by invite only, ping me via this site's email option and I can give you an invitation link.
Thanks Algot
We have noticed lot of referrals from Mastodon. We will setup account there and ping you in case of any probems
After uploading an image named and tagged with "yawn", I can see it on the front page, but searching for "yawn" gives a zero match.
Is there an indexing time delay in place?
Is the indexing done using a script which runs only at set intervals?
Yes
we are using sphinxsearch and laravel scout so it can be small delay till indexing is done.
Already working on this.
Hi Rob
I installed this tool yesterday to check for raster images. It is useful bit it is not solving all the problems. adding some functionalities to this.
Now returns to tagging link, page is more difficult since pagination is based on datatables.
OK I will try to replicate error
There is issue with php imagick which can't upscale svg. Tried also https://github.com/meyfa/php-svg but results are not great.
Finally did conversion with command line Imagemagick convert.
If anybody has encountered better solution I would like to hear.
I will check logs for error.
Please don't waste time on SVGs from Openclipart. All of them is already in database and it is part of tagging process. This way it be duplicate content since it is hard to find same SVG's.
We didn't load all of them at once since we are looking for a way to recognise SVGs with quality meta data so that we can publish them automatically.
Yes, you are right.
I set it now as latest. When there is more visits, I will set it by downloads or views or likes.
Also right Tags will be tags most frequently used by user
Hi,
you can access svg on https://freesvg.org/storage/zip/blog/Tw … loween.svg
Please do not enter duplicates.
Register with same name which you had on openclipart and if information is in metadata of svg we will assign it to that username.
If not, we are working on claim button where you can as register user can claim images.
If you have IDs from openclipart which are yours, please send us and I can now manually assign it to you
